As SRE within this revolutionary and vibrant energy company, you'll be a key member of the small, globally distributed Data Services team. You'll be responsible for the fabric, foundation and impressive AWS estate the company uses uses to achieve its goals.
You're a can-do person and will help boost developer productivity with your determination to create infrastructure that gets out of the way with a great developer experience.
What You’ll be Doing
• Maintain high availability of AWS infrastructure and also ensure high-level security
• Asses present-day technologies and strive to provide quality engineering experience
• Maintain high fault tolerance of the infrastructure despite extreme use by data analysts
• Ensure 100% uptime of each component in the platform
• Optimise the overall AWS expense
• Ensure a positive experience of everyone using the platform
• Monitor numerous CI/CD pipelines, so that they develop and adapt to existing infrastructure
What You’ll Bring in This Role
• Focus on building infrastructure that resonates with developers’ requirements
• Put efforts to be more skilled relative to Google with Kubernetes
• Experienced with AWS and an advocate of the cloud platform
• Basic know-how of Kafka Streams and Apache Kafka
• Veteran of ElasticSearch operations
• Fluent in Terraform, bash scripting
• Able to read some Go script
• Familiarity with applications based on the cloud and Airflow (or other Airflow orchestrations tools)
• Ability to design cloud-native applications
• Coding in JVM languages (e.g., JVM) and Java
• Good at Python programming
• Comprehends data lakes such as Orc, Athena, Parquet
