What will you be doing?

To continue their mission, this organisation is seeking a world-class engineering manager to join their growing team in New York City.

As an Engineering Manager, you will work closely with their team of engineers, and product team, to build best-in-class HR solutions for their wide-range of clients. Taking on responsibility for helping guide the team’s technical direction and roadmap, you will be tasked with driving efficient engineering processes and coaching team members. This organisation have built a strong and successful team to date, but they know they have a lot of work ahead of them. 

Some of the projects you might be integral to include migrating from a monolith to a microservice architecture, defining domain boundaries and implementing robust APIs for internal and public consumption of their Human Capital Management (HCM) services, leveling up their platform, and helping to scale their business to meet the needs of their growing customer base.

You will be joining a group of problem solvers and self-starters who are obsessed with creating the best experience for their clients, and you'll be a critical part of their growing company, guiding a team through best practices in technology, architecture, and process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Guide the technical direction and priorities of a team while ensuring delivery of high quality, scalable and heavily tested software.
  • Mentor and coach team members through performance reviews and regular 1:1 meetings.
  • Foster cross-functional relationships across engineering, QA, product, design, and business functions.

 

Desired Experience:

  • 1+ years hands-on technical management experience
  • Strong technical background with experience building, shipping and maintaining web applications and services as a software engineer
  • Motivated, self-starter with a passion for building and growing teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
